Who is that masked lady?

 

I have painted a series of these which I have gifted to my favorite businesses.  I used different colors, but theme remains the same.   I frequent small businesses rather than the big chain stores, but have not been out and about since end of February.  However, this past weekend was my first venture out into the covid world to drop off paintings with as little personal contact as possible.  Its scary.

 This is one of many new pieces of art created during my blog absence.     I am fine. I just have issues logging in since my device was hacked.    This is a many layered piece.  Zoom in for details.   

I also need to learn to use this new program format.  I am trying.

Use it or lose it

Going through old papers, I stumbled across a photocopy I made of the cover of a book at my aunts house.  At least 15 years ago.   I first told myself how foolish it is to hang on to stuff like this.  But then I decided to use it and then toss it. 

The first one was fun to paint, so I decided to add to it.  Painting a triptich is on my bucket list.  So, this is the time.  

If i can log back in this weekend, I will post the finished work.  Its wonderful to have a project.

I had been blocked from logging into this blog recently as a result of that email hack, and all the resulting password changes, and the fact that the Nigerian creep that did it attached something that sends him all my emails from that account.  That account is connected to this blog.   What a headache.   I changed the password twice today and tried to delete him from the account.  Maybe it worked.   I tried to log in tonight and I could get in, only to find that Bloggers new format is now in place.  I opted to retain the legacy form until they work out some bugs people who have switched over are having.  

Fresh faces

Here are some starters.   I can working the studio in the morning, but by noon, I need to paint in the dining room where the light is not as good, but its cooler.  I sketched

these with a red watercolor pencil - not thinking about how the paints would react to the pigment in pencil lines.   Spoiler alert...it bleeds.  The top photo looks like Soft pink, but it was white that picked up the red pigment.

A red Sharpie paint pen was used on the left to outline areas.  These are works in process.
