Mail art July

A couple things came in the mail recently, that I thought you might enjoy seeing. One is a card that Susanne Ventura and I are collaborating on. It is back to me again and I'll add something else before returning it to her. The second one is from Roberta Schmidt. She is very much into painting and pastels nowadays. I love both of these gals and their work too. Thanks for sending.

Photo op

A couple days ago I found myself face to face with an old friend, the broken down but picturesque bus at Moss Landing. It was placed in a different location on the property, and now is the first thing you see when you pull into the parking area. There were a lot of other changes there. Landscaping was updated and maintained well. More boats had been placed there. It looked like everything was thriving. More restaurants to lure in the tourists who love Moss Landing. One of the things I always like to do there, is to photograph the various textures of rust and wire and rope and old crab traps, fences, sides of boats, etc. Here are some pics. I tweaked the traps with Photoshop Elements.

Fabric Post Cards

I'm in a swap online with a group that makes fabric post cards. They are not my best thing, but sometimes I like to challenge myself. It's the edging that usually gives me the problems. Here are three, two are for the swap, one to keep. I'll post pics of what I get in exchange next month after they arrive.

This challenge was called "Every Stamp Tells a Story". We are to use a stamp and then interpret it on fabric. Some of my favorite stamps have images of fish, and that's what got me in the mood today when I sorted through them. I like the cool blues.

Lauren's birdie

Some of my friends and I went to visit Pat in Folsom the other day. While we were there, she showed us some little art pieces made by her very special little granddaughter Lauren. She made them during a family gathering and thought she would try selling them for half a dollar to family members. Pat suggested she sign them and they'd be worth more. These were left from that day, so I bought one. Pat had previously cut out some little birds for some of her own art work - but that's what Lauren wanted to use. Here it is. I love it.

New Mail Art

We had some super hot days which make for good art days. Scantily clad with the AC on - and maybe some good music. Here are a few new ones ready to send.

Some of the quotes are from a book of "pick up lines". Others are from a book of "things I've learned". I'm getting a big library of books of quotations, I just can't resist them. The man scowling had the quotation wit the image. I don't remember where he came from. I found him in my scrap basket. LOL You know how it goes.

Gallery

I changed some things in my gallery at PictureTrail. I added some newer things and got rid of some other images that were stored there. In case you want to peek, here is the link. www.picturetrail.com/artsngardens

I finally finished the Steampunk altered book, entitled Man and Power. There are some new views there of it. Here are a couple of them.

Mail art In box

Some new things have come in lately, and I thought I'd share them with you. The Alaska pc is a commerical card which is mounted on on wood. It was sent by Roberta from her trip. The 4th of July pc is from Norma. How silly is this? The vase of flowers came in today from Roberta. She loves to paint. I love it. Debbie sent the one with the Paris theme. Fits right into my Paris collection. The one with the fruit and the bee is from Carroll Wood who loves to garden. Thanks gals, you brightened my day and that of my mail carrier.
