Playing with an idea

Last week I sketched the scene I used in another piece I did a couple years ago.  I thought I might want to use the same background.      Then I scanned it and played a bit with it in Photoshop and added a figure from my art journal.   Here are some of the experiments. 

Will any of this end up in the final painting?   Time will tell.
